According to an e-mail sent out today, it seems that Twitter fever has hit McFly. The band is currently in the process of writing and recording new material, and whilst in the process of doing so, the band has seemingly turned to Twitter as a way of keeping the fans informed about the latest goings on in the life of McFly.
In other news; the band’s ‘Radio:Active Live At Wembley’ DVD will be hitting the shelves on May 11th, and will feature the band’s full 90 minute concert in London, as well as a number of extras.
If you’d like to follow McFly on Twitter then the following are Dougie, Tom, and Danny’s Twitter pages:

Kentucky’s Hydrogyn is to reschedule its planned UK tour for this month as the band’s lead guitarist Jeff Westlake has fractured his wrist. The band is hoping to reschedule the tour for autumn, and all tickets already purchased will remain valid.
Westlake had the following to say about the incident:
“It was just a freak thing that happened and I ended up with my wrist fractured so I will just deal with it and be ready to move on hopefully by mid to late May. I would also like to take this time to apologise to all of our fans who were planning on attending the shows and the promoters as well for all the hard work; we will reschedule the dates for fall and I will be looking doubly forward to doing those dates so hold on to your tickets and we will be announcing the new dates soon.“
Hydrogyn has plans to enter the studio again on May 21st, and the band will therefore be hoping that Westlake’s injury is sorted out by then. Jeff Boggs is on standby just in case Westlake isn’t ready to perform by May 21st, but with or without Westlake; the recording will be going ahead, and the band will begin recording its follow up to last year’s ‘Deadly Passions’.
The following are the tour dates that the band had planned to play this month:
April 21 London, UK The Gaff
April 22 Leicester, UK Leicester Square
April 23 Crewe, UK The Limelight
April 24 Bradford, UK The Gasworks
April 25 Newcastle, UK Legends

A reunited Blur is to play two dates at Hyde Park this July, and Vampire Weekend and Foals amongst others will also be appearing. The band will also headline T in the Park on July 12th; talk about Park Life.
The two gigs at Hyde Park will come on July 2nd and 3rd, and the following is the full list of bands for both dates:
July 2nd - Foals, Crystal Castles, Friendly Fires and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble
July 3rd - Vampire Weekend, Amadou & Mariam, Florence And The Machine and Deerhoof
Blur had been on hiatus since 2003, but recently reformed to see how it goes, the band now has a number of shows planned for the future including Manchester MEN Arena on June 26th with Klaxons and Florence And The Machine, and Oxygen 2009 also. Blur will even headline Glastonbury this year, appearing at the festival for the first time since headlining back in 1998.
Blur’s music is made for big events, and I’ve no doubt that they’ll rock each and every show that they play this year. It’s brilliant that the band is back together again, and that those who never got to see the band live last time now have the opportunity to do so. Blur will no doubt give the forthcoming shows their all, and given that the July 3rd show sold out in just 2 minutes; it’s obvious that Blur is a band that is still high in demand, hence the July 2nd show being organised to give further fans the chance to see the brilliant Blur.
If you’re heading to Glastonbury this year then I’m sure Blur will provide much in the way of entertainment, and it’s bound to be a night to remember. Blur is back, and in the summer their tracks are sure to be sung and hummed by thousands as the band once more takes to the road and tours.

It wasn’t an entirely bad week for Lady GaGa as she is still number one in the album chart, Calvin Harris is the new king of the singles charts though, and will no doubt he hoping to hang onto the top spot next week.
