Dub Pistols will be releasing a new single on May 11th in the form of ‘Back To Daylight’. The 7” vinyl will include ‘Six Months’ featuring Gregory Isaacs & Rodney P, and the digital edition will feature an exclusive Justin Robertson mix.
‘Back To Daylight’ is all set to be the first released single from the forthcoming Dub Pistols album ‘Rum & Coke’, an album which is due for release on May 25th. The album will be released through Sunday Best Recordings, and is the follow-up to ‘Speakers & Tweeters’ which was released in 2007 (also through Sunday Best).
The band will be playing Brixton Academy with The Specials on May 6th/7th, and the two shows are sure to be incredibly chilled out. Make your way along to Brixton for a night of ska and dub to remember.

Sonic Boom Six will be heading out on tour at the end of April, and will be playing a show almost every night right up until the very end of May.
Starting out in Brighton, the band will ultimately finish the tour in London, and if you’ve ever attended a Sonic Boom Six show in the past then you’ll be well aware that there’s plenty of energy and passion to be expected.
With every passing release the band just seems to keep getting better, and Sonic Boom Six has certainly come a long way since the release of ‘The Turbo EP’ through Moon Ska Records way back in 2003. I was thoroughly impressed when I heard 2007s ‘Arcade Perfect’ album, and I now can’t wait to hear ‘City of Thieves’.
‘City of Thieves’ will be released through Rebel Alliance Recordings on April 20th, and the cover art has been put together by Gallows’ Dan Mumford. The album features guest appearances from Random Hand’s Robin Leitch and former King Prawn frontman Al Rumjen (now of Asian Dub Foundation) amongst others, and it’s sure to be a very impressive mash-up of genres.
The music of Sonic Boom Six is certainly never predictable, always it’s excellent, and never does the band fail to impress with its refreshingly unique and raw style of sound.
