Pearl Jam to Self-Release New Studio Album
Pearl Jam will be self-releasing its new and as yet untitled ninth studio album, and the album looks set to be released later this year. The band’s first seven studio albums were released through Epic Records (owned by Sony Music), whilst the eighth album, the self-titled ‘Pearl Jam’ was released through J Records (which is also owned by Sony Music) in 2006.
A decision has been made to self-release the album this time round though, and the Rolling Stone has reported that the band will hit the studio soon.
Speaking with Rolling Stone, Eddie Vedder stated that “The new record feels good so far — really strong and uptempo, stuff we can sink our teeth into.”
So it sounds as though Pearl Jam’s ninth studio album is going to be a good one, and I personally can’t wait to hear what the band has to offer with this one. I’m sure that we can rely on Pearl Jam to produce the goods with studio album number nine.
