The All-American Rejects cover Britney Spears’ “Womanizer”

Published by richleigh under Rock Music Edit This

The All American RejectsThe All-American Rejects recently recorded a cover version of Britney Spears’ “Womanizer” for Pepsi Smash on Yahoo Music. Claiming to be able to perform the track better than Britney Spears, the band then proceeds to perform a half-hearted cover of the track, with lead singer Tyson Ritter for the most part looking pretty bored.

Not to be taken too seriously, The All-American Rejects “Womanizer” is pretty fun in parts; I have to say however that I actually prefer the Britney Spears original. I’m by no means a Britney Spears fan, I do however feel that The All-American Rejects approach this track a little too arrogantly, and that their overconfident swagger is perhaps a little misplaced. Pop queen Britney Spears has sold far more records throughout the years than The All-American Rejects has and probably ever will; I do quite like the band, but feel that their attitude quite frankly stinks.

So here it is, here’s the Pepsi Smash video of The All-American Rejects cover version of “Womanizer”, followed by a video of Britney Spears performing the track live on the X-Factor for all those that wish to compare the two.
