Phil Conalane to be the new Velvet Revolver frontman?
According to Classic Rock Magazine , rumour has it that Velvet Revolver could well be recruiting Irishman Phil Conalane to be their new singer. Conalane is currently the lead vocalist for Million Dollar Reload , he’s been recommended to the band by former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler and UK rock band Stone Gods though, and seemingly the reasonably unknown Irish vocalist could soon be strutting his stuff as the new lead vocalist for Velvet Revolver.
The band hasn’t had much luck with vocalists so far; Axl Rose having been the problem first of all, and then followed by the equally egotistical Scott Weiland afterwards. Apparently Stone Gods approached Conalane when their own self absorbed singer Justin Hawkins quit The Darkness (the band Stone Gods formed from the ashes of), Phil Conalane should be a good well grounded singer for Velvet Revolver, and might be just the vocalist the band is looking for.
It’s not certain yet that Phil Conalane will indeed replace Scott Weiland, it looks as though it could well happen however, and if he does indeed join the band then I’m sure he’ll do a cracking job for Velvet Revolver. Velvet Revolver is after a fresh, down to earth performer to become their new lead singer, and I feel that they could definitely do a lot worse than Phil Conalane.
Phil Conalane could soon become Velvet Revolver’s new lead vocalist, and if this is indeed the case, then I look forward to many future Velvet Revolver albums with Conalane at the helm.
