Prepare Your Ears for Franz Ferdinand Album Number Three
Franz Ferdinand’s third studio album ‘Tonight: Franz Ferdinand’ is to be released on January 26th 2009 through Domino Records. The music has taken a radical change in direction and the band is now to showcase a new electronica heavy edge.
The band has taken its time in recording album number three, it has been an 18 month process and as such Franz Ferdinand has therefore been able to record multiple different versions of each track and get a real feel for the direction they wished the album to go in, and the exact mood they wished to convey with each and every track. Taking time has allowed the band to come up with its best, most innovative music to date, creating a sound which is likely to blow listeners away with just how different it is to previous material that Franz Ferdinand has come up with.
It was originally intended that the album would be recorded with producer Brian Higgins; Dan Carey (Fatboy Slim, CSS, Hot Chip) was the man who ultimately ended up producing the album however, with the band deciding they just didn’t really want to make a pop album this time round. Dan Carey brought with him a dance background to the mix, allowing Franz Ferdinand to adapt and change, bringing dance qualities into the music, and really enabling the band to move away from the sound that it’s been known for in the past.
It’s a definite time of change for Franz Ferdinand, the band’s music is moving forward and album number three is all set to provide for a very different listening experience. This is Franz Ferdinand as we’ve never before heard them, it’s more dance than it is rock, and if you were expecting more of the same from the band then you’re therefore going to be in for a shock.
