Published by richleigh at 10:40 pm under Rock Music Edit This

Brighton metalcore band Johnny Truant has decided to call it a day and the band’s final tour is scheduled to take place throughout December 2008, finishing with a show at Brighton’s Engine Rooms. The band which started out life in the year 2000 under the name of Severance has decided to bring it all to an end; to call it a day and allow for the five members to move onto pastures new.

The band had the following to say on the issue at their official blog :

We have had many amazing years and made many great friends along the way. Thank you to everyone that has supported us and shared so many amazing times with us, it’s been a hell of a ride and one that we are very proud of. Our final shows will be in the UK December. Come along and let’s make them the biggest party we can.

For those wishing to attend the band’s final tour then the following are the UK dates that are to be played by Johnny Truant:

The band’s final album was released through United By Fate Records in the UK, the hugely popular independent record label Ferret Music in the USA, and Distort Entertainment throughout Canada.

It’s a great shame that Johnny Truant has decided to disband, the music of Johnny Truant has always been excellent throughout the years and as such the band will surely be sorely missed. All good things must come to an end as they say, and when the band plays its final show in Brighton on December 17th it’s likely to be a night to remember.

Good luck to all five members of the band in all their future ventures, East Sussex will miss you, and I’m sure there are a lot of people all across the country looking forward to an action packed first seventeen days of December.
