Metallica to Release an Online Album?

According to the NME , Metallica is thinking about releasing the next studio album online. The band is now free of its contract with Warner Bros after the release of the ‘Death Magnetic’ album earlier in 2008, and with this new found freedom; the idea of an online album release now seems to be something that the band is really considering.

The new album might not be out for a while yet, the band is free to do what it likes now though, and with digital music sales seemingly the future; this could be the route the band chooses to take with studio album number ten.

It wasn’t so long ago that the band filed a lawsuit against file sharing service Napster for distributing Metallica’s music online free of charge; things have changed a lot since then though, people have started paying for their music downloads, and even Napster is now a pay-to-use service.

It’s certainly an option that the band will release its next album online; it probably won’t be for a while though, so don’t get too excited just yet.

Billy Talent Album Number Three

Billy Talent is hoping to have a third album out before the summer, and after the second album having been titled ‘II’; the third album is now likely to follow that same theme and be called ‘III’, ‘3’ or ‘Three’. The band believes it’ll be the best album yet, given the quality of the two previous albums the band has released however; they’ll have to come up with something really very special if that’s to be true.

The band’s first album fantastic, the second phenomenal; album number three is sure to be one to remember though, and having been waiting for this album since 2006, I have to say I’m very excited about the news of Billy Talent album number three. I’m sure the band will not disappoint, and when the album is released, all are likely to be blown away by the excellence that the band has to offer here.

The album is to be released through Atlantic Records, and in 2009 the exact release date of the band’s third studio album is to be confirmed. So what’s to expect from the fantastic Canadian punk rock force that is Billy Talent? I’m not quite sure yet, the album is going to be recorded in Los Angeles though and I have full faith in the band’s ability to record something incredibly special, something that will impress and astound us all.

Watch this space for further updates, Billy Talent’s third studio album will be here within the year, and it’s bound to be a masterpiece.

New Bullet For My Valentine Album Before the end of 2009

Speaking with RockSound , Welsh band Bullet For My Valentine (BFMV) revealed that a new record is currently being worked on and it’s hoped that the album will be out sometime before the end of 2009. The band only released the ‘Scream Aim Fire’ album in January, a new album is already on the cards however it would seem and the prospect of a 2009 release date is really very exciting.

With the band’s last album already having sold in excess of half a million copies, demand is likely to be high for BFMVs new material. The band definitely sounds to be taking a drastic change in direction right now and I have full confidence that the new BFMV sound will be absolutely superb.

We may have to wait another year yet before the new material emerges, I’m already quite excited to hear what the band has to offer this time round however and just can’t wait for the release of BFMV studio album number three.

Austrian Death Machine Does Jingle Bells

Published by richleigh under Rock Music Edit This

Austrian Death Machine is the solo side project of As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis. The single ‘A Very Brutal Christmas’ is due out tomorrow, and getting ready for its release; Tim Lambesis has put up a teaser track of his ‘Jingle Bells’ cover at the Austrian Death Machine MySpace page .

It’s certainly different to the standard version of the track we’re all sick to death of by the end of the holiday season, and whilst the track may not go down too well if you put it on at the family meal over Christmas; it’s certainly quite a fun one to listen to.

The following are the three tracks that will appear on the single:

1. Jingle Bells
2. Get To The Choppa
3. Hell Bent For Leather (Judas Priest cover)
