Panic at the Disco is to release a live CD/DVD on December 2nd 2008 titled ‘Live in Chicago’. The CD will consist of eighteen live tracks, whilst the DVD will comprise of the band’s live performance of these eighteen tracks plus other added extras such as a tour documentary, alternate audio versions of some of the band’s best tracks, and photos of the band also.

This double-disc offering from Panic at the Disco is to be released through Fueled By Ramen/Decaydance Records and has been produced by Rob Mathes. This is a must own release for all fans of the band, and for those that already own the band’s first two studio albums then this would be an excellent addition to your Panic at the Disco collection.

With a strong possibility that a third Panic at the Disco album will be released in 2009; ‘Live in Chicago’ provides an excellent opportunity for fans to listen to the live sound of what the band has done to date. There’s bound to be great excitement surrounding the prospect of a 2009 release for the third studio album from Panic at the Disco; it’s also exciting news that this live album is to be released however, and having seen the band for myself; I can guarantee that this release will provide for a highly entertaining listening/viewing experience.

Queen to Re-Release All of Their Studio Albums on Vinyl

Published by richleigh under Rock Music Edit This

English rock band Queen has announced plans to re-release all of its studio albums over the course of the next two years on vinyl record. From first album ‘Queen’ right through to the 2008 effort ‘The Cosmos Rocks’ which features Paul Rodgers providing vocal duties; all albums are now to be re-released on vinyl record, making the entire collection available to own on vinyl for the very first time.

It’s an interesting move for Queen to have taken, and it’s sure to please many fans that they’ll be given the opportunity to own the entire Queen back-catalogue on vinyl. Including ‘The Cosmos Rocks’ from Queen + Paul Rodgers; a total of sixteen studio albums will be made available to own on vinyl, starting with the five albums of ‘Queen’, ‘Sheer Heart Attack’, ‘A Night At The Opera’, ‘A Day At the Races’, and ‘The Cosmos Rocks’ as the first batch of records to be put to vinyl. Every six months Hollywood Records will be releasing further Queen studio albums on vinyl until all sixteen have been re-released and are out there on the market and available to buy.

Queen was active as a band between the years of 1970 and 1997, since 2005 former Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor have joined forces with Paul Rodgers however and now make music under the guise of Queen + Paul Rodgers. It’ll be interesting to see how some fans react to the inclusion of ‘The Cosmos Rocks’ as one of the studio albums to be released on vinyl; for most though, I’m sure it’ll just be pleasing to see that all fifteen Queen studio albums are to be put out there on the market in this format.

Fall Out Boy to Attempt Radio Interview Record

Published by richleigh under Rock Music Edit This

On October 31st 2008; Fall Out Boy band members Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump will be attempting to set a new world record. The record they have set their sights on is that of most radio interviews conducted in a 24 hour period. The record currently stands at 57; Wentz and Stump will therefore be aiming for 58 and will start their Guinness World Record mission at 3am local time in Los Angeles with an interview at Premiere Studios.

It’s an interesting record for the band to be attempting; 58 radio interviews is a lot to get done within a 24 hour period, particularly when you factor in time taken to travel from studio to studio. It’ll sure be a Halloween to remember for Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump; they’ll never have a Halloween quite like this one again, and if they can beat the current Guinness World Record then I’m sure they’ll be doing plenty of celebrating.

It’s not every day that you learn a band is attempting to beat a world record such as this; Fall Out Boy is no ordinary band though, and with the band’s fifth studio album ‘Folie A Deux’ due for release on December 16th; it’s certainly a very novel way of promoting it.
